Verdict

This looks a good opportunity for Kalankari to finally get his head in front with Abaconian, Maud's Cat and Karijini the others to consider. The selection has finished second on three occasions but the form of his most recent run has been franked and if he runs up to that level then he should take plenty of beating. Abaconian is interesting as he ran green on his debut here when finishing sixth behind Piano Player. He is sure to come on for that experience and as he clearly has ability he is worthy of consideration. The two newcomers in the race Maud's Cat and Karijini hail from top yards so should be noted in the market, but for the winner we will stick with Kalankari who should get his reward today for a string of consistent efforts.
