    Verdict

Bahiano looks capable of getting the losses back here at the expense of Boavista, Resplendent King and Hatch. Bahiano was backed to step up on last season's juvenile efforts when lining up over a mile at Woverhampton in January, but found Play Master too strong close home. The drop back to seven furlongs on the quicker Polytrack will not tax his stamina as much, and although bred to get a mile, Bahiano should be more at home here for the time being. Kieren Fallon has been booked as well which is another plus point, and he should prove hard to beat. Boavista is much more experienced but is fully exposed and is from a family of sprinters, but Resplendent King shapes as though he would benefit from a longer trip judged on his latest outing here over a mile. Sent off as favourite he lost his place and was staying on again when having to be snatched up inside there final furlong. Hatch ran well on his all-weather debut at Wolverhampton when second to Blue Empire, but that was in claiming company so he too has more to do, and along with the rest, will struggle to contain Bahiano.
