In depth

Verdict

An ordinary contest can go to Patavium Prince, who is just preferred over Dianne's Choice and Billy Bling, while the newcomer Kellys Dream has not been over faced on her debut and she is one to note for next time. Billy Bling has not really shown much so far and has a little bit to prove. However, he is in the right hands to find a race before too long and any support for him in the betting ring will be noteworthy. Dianne's Choice is open to improvement and, considering Richard Quinn's useful strike-rated for the John Akehurst stable, the lightly raced daughter of Komite is worth keeping tabs on in the betting. However, recent form points towards a bold shown from Patavium Prince today. The selection was not far behind the improving Pauvic here six days ago and will need only run to that level to hold an outstanding chance here. John Best does very well with this type of animal and the Kent-based trainer has a solid chance of enhancing his haul at this course.
