In depth

Verdict

Annemasse beat Vitznau last time out but with a 6lb pull in the weights, the latter is fancied to turn the tables, although Captain Jacksparra and the returning Tencendur warrant plenty of respect in a hot little contest. The selection made a pleasing reappearance when narrowly failing to wear down Mark Johnston's race-fit Annemasse eight days ago at Kempton but with that run under his belt, he must be fancied to turn the tables, especially with the promising William Buick able to claim an extra 5lbs. The time of the race was good that day, however Annemasse's penalty surely makes him more vulnerable today as he doesn't look favourably handicapped. Tencendur returns from a break and is likely to give it a brave go from the front today although lack of match practice may tell in the final furlong, whilst Captain Jacksparra won his maiden in good fashion last time out but doesn't look obviously well-treated back in a handicap. Ede's Dot Com completes the line-up but looks out of his depth, and so therefore we will return to Richard Hannon's Vitznau to get his head back in front.
