Verdict

Mister Completely is given the vote here ahead of Silsong, Night Warrior, Prince Valentine and Tharua. With a decent draw in stall two, Mister Completely should make a bold bid to add to his recent victory over 10 furlongs here. He was given a good ride from the front by Steve Drowne 12 days ago, and although he now has another two furlongs to travel, the way that he travelled suggests that he will find more when required. He has to give weight to most of his opponents bar Night Warrior, who himself has been in fine form, having won two of his last three starts. The only negative there is that they have both been gained on Southwell's Fibresand surface, so he might be taken off his feet if they go any sort of pace. Silsong made a bold bid to make all on her only previous appearance here in October, and although still a maiden, will not remain one for much longer. She is a threat along with Prince Valentine, placed on each of his last three visits here and who should have no problem with the step up in trip. In contrast, Tharua drops back in distance and may be outpaced throughout, so we return to Mister Completely as the pick in a fairly open contest.
