In depth

Verdict

An interesting maiden with a number of top yards represented by some lightly raced types who are capable of leaving previous form behind. The market should provide plenty of clues but Splendid Era takes a significant ease in grade and is handed the TEAMtalk vote. The Barry Hills-trained colt was unfancied on his Newmarket debut earlier in the month but showed an abundance of promise when a staying-on seventh of 26 behind the highly regarded Desert Star. With improvment to come, the son of Green Desert should prove hard to beat. Hannamie and Jazz Messenger have both hinted at ability and aere entitled to progress while John Gosden introduces Little Good Bay who makes plenty of appeal on breeding and should be closely monitored in the exchanges.
