In depth

Verdict

This may not be as competitive as the numbers suggest with the vote going to Win A Rose, who is preferred to Classi Maureen and Baileys Best. The last mentioned has slipped to a fair mark but has given little real sign for optimism of late so may be best watched again. Gondolin has disappointed in his last two starts, while Etendard Indien has dropped to a decent mark but has been on a steady decline for some time now. Another Club Royal would have claims if fit for his reappearance although a bigger threat may come from the Evan Williams-trained Classi Maureen, who receives weight all round. Peter Bowen's Win A Rose made a highly satisfactory return at Fontwell earlier this month though and is taken to go one better here.
