Madam Caversfield gets the vote ahead of Jamaaron and Strathtay, with Hamburg Springer and Methodical also worth a mention at least. This is not the greatest of races to get proceedings under way, and should be well within the scope of Madam Caversfield who would perhaps have scored at Cheltenham in October had she not fallen two out when in with every chance. She was subsequently outclassed in Grade 2 company on a return to Prestbury Park, but ran well when third at Warwick last week, and meets much lesser opposition here. Jamaaron had the measure of Strathtay when they met in similar company recently and it is hard to see the latter turning the tables on the same terms. Both should make a play for the places though, while Hamburg Springer needs to improve on the evidence so far but makes more appeal than some of the others. Methodical was a maiden on the Flat and in all probability would not have reached the frame had she stayed upright at Wincanton, and all in all this should go to Madam Caversfield.
