Not much experience for us to go on here and those that have it do not inspire. Knocktopher Abbey and Irish Distinction both contested the race won by Orangerie at Cheltenham in October, but neither have been seen out since. The former finished third that day, though well beaten, courtesy of the fall of the latter when tiring two out. Of the pair, Irish Distinction perhaps looks to be open to the most improvement for the experience and can at least do better here without winning. Nowater is one of a number of debutantes and Tony Dobbin is an interesting booking for this recruit from Poland. Second twice over 10f on good ground back at home, he is likely to run well first time for new trainer Tom George, though should come on for the experience. Transatlantic has contested some decent handicaps on the level and likes this decent sort of ground. He is likely to be a pretty warm order on debut, coming from connections who do well here. However, as one who struggles to get beyond a mile on the flat he could have a problem with the trip here and we would like to see him prove that he gets two miles before supporting him. The vote, therefore, goes to Rescindo. The four-year-old receives the weight for age allowance from all of his opponents and ran well when second to Atum Re at Wincanton last week. Immediate improvement is expected, and with no such problems over the trip he is taken to score for Martin Pipe.
