In depth

Verdict

Marrel can follow up his Chepstow win at the expense of Jockser, Cannon Fire and Siegfrieds Night. Although yet to score over this distance, Marrel has plenty going for him today judged on his latest battling victory over Billyandi at Chepstow where he was close to the pace throughout and showed no signs of stopping at the finish. He is still not badly handicapped on last season's form and will handle the fast ground so has to go close. Jockser bounced back to form when scoring over two-and-a half miles at Chepstow, but that was in softer going and he might be taken off his feet by the selection. Cannon Fire looked one-paced at Chepstow last time but might be worth considering for a place at least, while Siegfrieds Night was a comfortable winner over further at Fakenham and on that form is another that can play a part in proceedings. The market should be noted as regards the rest, but Marrel has the strongest claims.
