Verdict

Lindseyfield Lodge is narrowly preferred in the finale to Kai Kuri and Cheeky Trucker. The selection made a winning debut and then finished a fair second over this course and distance behind Royal Attraction last time. He was expected to win that day but although he couldn't do so, he still has the best form on offer here and is the one to beat. Kai Kuri did nothing wrong on her racecourse debut when she finished second behind Solid Silver and if she can build on that encouraging display she will not be far away at the finish. Cheeky Trucker is an interesting newcomer from the Richard Phillips yard and she is certainly one to note in the market, although she will have to be decent to make a winning debut here. Dawesville did nothing wrong on his debut and he once again has the in-form Tom O'Brien in the saddle so he could prove best of the remainder, but for the winner we are happy to return to Lindseyfield Lodge.
