Verdict

Red Tornado has claims in this as long as the ground doesn’t deteriorate further. Though last across the line in the race last year after starting favourite, he’s dropped 4lb since and the excellent James Bowen takes off a further 7lb today – he was second in a similar contest over track and trip in July. Dear Sire has made giant strides and bravely held off CAID DU LIN at Stratford after beating Caius Marcius at Perth but Richard Newland’s charge could reverse the form today if jumping a little better – his yard had the winner of this last season and also in 2013. I'm A Game Changer looked a nice prospect last season but hasn’t raced since March but Dan Skelton has both Late Night Lily and Listen To The Man entered as well as Red Tornado and both have each-way claims. Gordon Elliott has sent over Walkabout and he’s another to consider along with the lightly-weighted Limited Reserve.
