In depth

Verdict

Mickael Barzalona picked up two winners for Godolphin at the last meeting and neither were the first string so the fact that he is on board Lawspeaker doesn't deter from his chances of beating the owners' four other entries, Buzzword, Calvados Blues, La De Two and Peligroso. Of those, German Derby winner Buzzword carries the best form but he hasn't run since July and has bigger targets later in the Carnival. Frankie rides La De Two, a York handicap winner last year but well beaten in a Newbury Group 3 on his final start. Deauville Listed winner Telluride did better than Mikhail Glinka here three weeks ago and should do so again though the one to beat is STAR EMPIRE. Mike De Kock's charge had useful form in South Africa and made a pleasing debut here behind Spring Of Fame where he never got involved until far too late in that 1m2f contest on Tapeta.
