In depth

Verdict

UAE champion jockey Tadhg O'Shea made an excellent start to the new campaign with a double at Sharjah on Saturday. He rides Trinity Force here but the Fairyhouse winner hasn't shown much for new connections and was well beaten at Jebel Ali on Friday. Doug Watson also got off to a successful start in his bid to retain his trainer's title at that same fixture and though Docket hasn't run since March his trainer should have him ready for this. MUHTARAM (NAP) completed a double here two years ago then ran over a mile at the meeting a year ago and was only narrowly beaten. He's best on this surface and though his form tailed off in the spring he was racing in better company. Akeed Champion won twice for Richard Fahey in the summer of last year but ran only once for new connections on Dirt at Jebel Ali and finished tailed off. Epsilon won a little race on Dirt for Godolphin in the USA but has changed ownership while it's difficult to know what to make of I'tilaf, a six-year-old son of Street Cry who has only had three runs including a victory on Dirt at Al Ain last November. Long Water looks best of the remainder.
