In depth

Verdict

Rodaini has generally competed at a higher level and has had plenty of success on this track though he hasn’t raced over a trip this short since his debut in 2016. LYTHAM ST ANNES won three times last winter, twice over this course and distance. Doug Watson should have him ready and he looks the one to beat. Pennsylvania Dutch won five times for Kevin Ryan in the summer though never on the all-weather so his ability to act on the surface has to be taken on trust. Portamento has a fitness advantage having only faded close home here a fortnight ago though Lansky looks the main threat as he’s performed at a much higher level, including Group company, since transferring from Robert Cowell.
