    Verdict

David Nicholls has his string of sprinters in such good form at the moment that Final Tune has to be respected but preference on recent form has to be for Pay Time, with Paddywack rated the best of the remainder. The selection made a highly satisfactory reappearance when chasing home another Nicholls runner Sawwaah in a Redcar claimer and, on that form, he looks worth chancing back in a handicap. Second Reef showed signs of a return to form here last time and would have claims if able to build on that effort, while Whittinghamvillage may do better dropped back in distance. Cut Glass is less exposed than her rivals and Clive Brittain's filly cannot be ruled out on debut in a handicap although a bigger threat is likely to come from David Chapman's evergreen nine-year-old Paddywack, who bounced back to form at Beverley last time. Pay Time has an obvious chance on form though and he gets the vote.
