Ptarmigan Ridge showed improved form over course and distance last time and has to be respected on that evidence but Linda Perratt's gelding has never been that consistent and preference is for Rothesay Dancer, who gets the vote ahead of Whinhill House. The selection has shown gradual improvement with each outing this term, has ground conditions to suit and comes from a yard that can do little wrong at present. Bluebok looks to be the pick of Milton Bradley's three runners ahead of Harrison's Flyer and Blue Tomato but does not have a particularly good draw. Glencairn Star, a stablemate of the selection, and Whinhill House are closely matched on their running here last time and have to be respected, while Bold Marc needs to improve on recent form to get involved. Rothesay Dancer looks to be going the right way at the moment though and from a good draw and on his favoured ground, he is taken to open his account for the season.
