In depth

Verdict

Plutocrat can defy topweight against Kasthari, with The Biker and Sovereign State likely to play a part. Plutocrat jumped well when scoring at Sedgefield last month, beating World Vision comfortably enough to suggest that a rise in the weights will not be enough to stop him from making a bold bid to follow up. Bodfari Signet was back in fourth that day and has since franked the form but does not look good enough to turn the tables on Len Lungo's charge. A bigger danger will be Kasthari who lines up on the back of a decent campaign on the Flat this autumn. However, he will start shorter than he should because of his stable, and is worth taking on. The Biker shaped well on his Kelso return and will pay his way for Peter Monteith in due course, while Sovereign State has more to do than when winning at Catterick. The selection's stablemate Silvertown showed his first form for some time when second to Bodfari Signet, but makes nowhere near as much appeal as Plutocrat.
