In depth

Verdict

Quite a competitive race for one of this type and SALLY'S IDEA gets the vote. Donald McCain's filly has looked no great shakes so far, but did show perhaps a little improvement last time when staying on for third. This extra half a mile looks very much a positive and today can be her day. Beat The Band makes her hurdling debut and ran with credit in several Irish bumpers. The going will suit and so will this trip, so watch the market for clues. Black Rock Lake is another with some decent Irish form in the context of this and has to be respected, while the betting should provide us with some clues as to the chances of newcomers Madamlily and Miss Abbey.
