In depth

Verdict

A tricky bumper to conclude the card and it should pay to concentrate on four or five of these from stables that do well in this sphere, with the vote just going to BLUE BLOODED. The Nayef-gelding changed hands for £80,000 in the sales ring last December and is a half-brother to five winners, both Flat and National Hunt, including the high-class two-mile hurdler Arcalis. Trainer Alan Swinbank has a good record in bumpers at the track and his charge gets the narrow vote. Others with good records here are Karen McLintock and Howard Johnson, who are represented by Bygones In Brid and Gin Cobbler respectively, and both have pedigrees that suggest they will be very competitive. Bello Regalo comes from an in-form yard and is of good National Hunt stock, while D'Gigi is another well-bred entry and a general market check is very strongly advised.
