In depth

Verdict

HIGH OFFICE, representing the in-form Richard Fahey, usually performs over shorter but is quite capable over staying trips such as the challenge faced here- he was sixth in last season's Goodwood Stakes. The obvious concern is that he's not visited the winner's circle since 2011 but, with fitness assured, this may just be his day. King Of The Picts is a real eye-catcher as he's enjoyed a cracking season over timber, winning in Grade 3 company before placing in successive high-quality contests behind The Tullow Turk, Vautour and Josses Hill on his last three starts. He has a wonderful chance if able to transfer that standard to the Flat, where he's been less effective in the past. Dr Irv and Corton Lad are worth a look first time back whilst Sir Frank Morgan must be noted off the bottom perch after scoring three times on the all-weather in the last five weeks.
