Verdict

FREE EXPRESSION landed a point-to-point on his debut then beat a subsequent dual winner in a Fairyhouse bumper in April. He looks a smart prospect and Gordon Elliott will have him spot-on for his hurdling debut so he's given the nod. On Impulse landed a Thurles bumper in heavy ground but made a few mistakes when strongly fancied on his hurdling bow over 2m4f at Navan. He'll have learnt from that experience and is expected to do much better. Oscar Knight has shown promise in bumpers and was always more likely to be a hurdler while Rathpatrick ploughed through the Roscommon mud to beat a strong field of bumpers in May and looks a big danger. Uncle Danny came with a late rattle to gain an impressive bumper victory at Punchestown in May and has potential to do well over timber, a remark that also applies to the French bumper winner Vent De La Cote, who showed real promise on his debut over timber in a huge field here in March. Texas Tea has run the occasional decent race but has been inconsistent.
