Verdict

Mount Ruapehu was a well beaten runner-up over this track and trip before a better effort when a close third at the Curragh and is still on the upgrade. Bonny Power attracted good support at Bellewstown in June but didn't get the run of the race and is better than the form figure implies. Nituna had shown potential before a fair run in the lucrative auction race here three weeks ago but the cheaply-bought BIRD OF PLAY ran so well at the Curragh last weekend that he looks the one to beat. Henry De Bromhead's charge looked out with the washing at halfway but finished so strongly that he got within half-a-length of the winner. Rubio Draco's dam has produced winners with all four offspring to race so he's one to keep an eye on.
