Verdict

Tony Martin's versatile pair Pires and Salute Him make their debuts over fences and either could prove useful. Preference is just for the former who has been in better recent form while Noel Meade's Monastrell looks certain to make a chaser and was still in touch when falling on his only start over fences last December. The progressive hurdler Resolute Bay has been making a few mistakes but the bigger obstacles may wake him up and he's definitely one to keep on the right side as is the mare Definite Class, who has been going well over hurdles. Marlay Park made a promising start over fences behind Rivage D'Or at Thurles last week and looks a big threat but another chance is handed to FAR AWAY SO CLOSE, a classy hurdler who started odds-on for his chasing debut at Limerick but didn't jump too well before falling at the second last.
