In depth

Verdict

NOIMEAD DRAIOCHTA caught the eye in no uncertain terms on his handicap debut over 6f at Cork on Sunday, staying on strongly from the rear. It's a surprise to see Jim Bolger putting up an inexperienced apprentice but he's taking advantage of what looks a very lowly handicap mark. Footcycle was brought with a fine late run to snatch the spoils over the C&D on Friday and a 5lb penalty is unlikely to prevent another big effort though Suspect Device, who finished strongly into third after being out with the washing for most of the way, can reverse the form on today's terms. Extra Steps is rarely beaten far and the longer trip should suit while the lightly-raced Newlands Princess makes her handicap bow from a fair mark.
