In depth

Verdict

Oscar Sam is the only course and distance winner and will be better for a recent run at Thurles while Charlie Stout won a lucrative handicap at Down Royal and was staying on at the finish in an equally tough event at Fairyhouse. She's A Star is closely matched with the latter on their last two runs and has to be respected while HIGHLAND FLING is back over a more suitable distance and the heavy ground will play to his strengths. The latter is handed the vote though Diamond Cauchois has changed stables and reappeared with a fine effort over this trip at Naas so he's another on the shortlist along with The Kings Baby, who has really found her form having completed a double before running well in a Listed contest at Punchestown. Fine Rightly is better known as a chaser but is 16lb lower over timber so is another to consider.
