Verdict

NIGEL was the moral victor at Kempton four weeks ago as he would surely have beaten Winter Serenade had he not been hampered on the turn for home and again in the straight. His stable won this last year and James Doyle's mount can follow up ahead of Senrima. He was green on the way to the start on his debut at Windsor and again in the race itself but still finished second and was clear of the third - the longer trip should suit. It's difficult to see the older Evelith Hall and Burning Desire troubling the two three-year-olds.
