Verdict

Watergate, Lucky Redback and Sparkling Crystal make most appeal here and the vote is given to Watergate. The selection is a likeable type and he showed improved form to score at Catterick last time out. The yard are in good form and with the promise of more to come he is a confident pick. Lucky Redback has won his last two races but it was only a moderate contest he won last time out and he has looked far from straightforward so far. Sparkling Crystal raced too keenly at Doncaster last time but if she settles better then she could be capable of entering calculations. Scenic Pass was a disappointing favourite at Thirsk on Friday and if she takes her chance here then the percentage call would be to swerve her. All of which returns us to Watergate as the pick.
