      Verdict

The form of the Ripon race won by SUMMER LODGE has worked out well and Jeremy Glover's six-year-old can follow up here at the main expense of Epsom Salts, Venir Rouge and Cyborg. With third-placed Bollin Greta having come out and won comfortably since Ripon, Summer Lodge's five length success carries a fair bit of weight into this, his follow-up attempt. That was on good to soft ground, but he has also acted on good to firm, so there should be no going concerns, and a 6lb rise should ensure that he remains fully competitive. Epsom Salts and Venir Rouge are also last-time winners. The former is also 6lbs higher than when sticking on well to score at Epsom last week, and now needs a career best to go in again. Meanwhile Venir Rouge is just 2lbs higher than when taking a minor handicap here over 11f, but has to be a doubt with regards to stamina for this extra quarter-of-a-mile. With Halling as his sire, Cyborg may well be able to see out this trip but has not yet won in 10 starts and has plenty to find with Epsom Salts judged on their previous meeting, so the frame is perhaps his most realistic hope. Act Three should be competitive from this mark, but we prefer the claims of Summer Lodge.
