Verdict

This could provide another win for Ulusaba, with The Bandit, Dealer's Choice and, possibly, Ballybrophy, being others to consider. The selection has looked a reformed character this season, winning three of his last four starts. Although he has been raised another six for the latest of them, he could still have more to come and, furthermore, has won over course and distance. The Bandit has yet to prove he stays this far but put in a fair run over two miles and five furlongs at Cheltenham last time and has been dropped two pounds for that effort. Dealer's Choice is just three pounds above a winning mark and put in a fair effort last time on his first run since May, although he would probably not want the going to be too soft. Ballybrophy gets a mention because he is now 16 pounds below the mark he won from at Chepstow in January 2004 and ran quite well for a long way at Haydock last time. Of the others, El Bandito is on a winning mark but has yet to prove he stays this far, while News Maker looked good two years ago and remains lightly raced, but has a long absence to defy. Cruise The Fairway was useful when with Mark Pitman a couple of years back but he also lacks a recent outing. Once again, then, this spins us back to the selection, which is Ulusaba.
