In depth

Verdict

An interesting opener where Seeking The Buck is taken to score from Wait For The Will, the in-form Ravenna and Tifernati. The selection steps up to this trip for the first time and the signs are that it should suit. The colt has won over 10f, and been in the frame on his last three starts, and with more time to get into this it can pay to support him on ground that suits. Wait For The Will was a winner over this trip at Windsor last time out when partnered by a different amateur. Gary Moore's gelding will get every yard of this but would want it to be quicker to be seen to best effect. Ravenna tries to complete a nap hand here after four wins at different tracks in very moderate company. Trip and ground suit and she is respected. Tifernati relished the step up to this trip at Newmarket and may be able to overcome a 6lb rise for that success, so will be no back number, while Torrens is also respected, but preference is for Seeking The Buck.
