Verdict

Suhayl Star is the only one of these to have raced previously and Mick Channon's colt obviously has obvious claims on the evidence of his debut second at Kempton; he gets the vote ahead of The Illies and Make Me An Offer. The last mentioned is a well related son of Fasliyev trained by Barry Hills and would have to be respected, while Richard Hannon's Cav Okay shares the same sire but is a late foal and may need more time. Brian Meehan's Night Shift gelding See In The Dark has a pedigree that would suggest any further rain would not be an inconvenience and he is another worthy of a mention although a bigger threat may come from The Illies. A third son of Fasliyev in the line up and the second of two runners trained by Barry Hills, it will be interesting to see the pecking order in the market between him and his stablemate Make Me An Offer. Suhayl Star is entitled to come on for his debut outing when looking green and, judged by his pedigree, should handle any cut in the ground.
