Verdict

Spark Plug is sure to have his supporters after registering a win in Listed company at Sandown, but a 3lb penalty isn’t ideal so BEST OF DAYS is taken to bounce back. Hugo Palmer’s charge won the Royal Lodge Stakes last term so his reappearance at Royal Ascot has to go down as a disappointment. Nevertheless, the colt clearly has the requisite class to win this and he can do so in receipt of weight from his elders. Thikriyaat is stepped up in trip and tried in cheekpieces in an effort to rediscover the form that made him one of the most progressive horses in training last term. Mount Logan landed a conditions event at Doncaster on a similar surface and can go well. This will be a marked drop in grade for Arthenus and the form of his run in the Gordon Richards Stakes has worked out particularly well.
