Verdict

A competitive line-up for the Horris Hill, and it can go to Cupid's Glory, who gets the call over Brecon Beacon, Embossed, Johnny Jumpup and The Pheasant Flyer. Looking at what we see as the principals. Brecon Beacon's form is solid and he finished a fair fourth, admittedly when better was expected, in the Washington Singer over course and distance last time. Grant him all due consideration, as he was earlier runner-up in the Chesham Stakes. Cupid's Glory's winning run came to an end at The Curragh last time but, seeing that the winner went on to win the Middle Park, the form is rock solid and he could improve for the step up in trip and is proven on soft. Embossed's very good second to Librettist at Doncaster two runs ago affords him plenty of respect, while Johnny Jumpup, who is proven on the going and has won three of his four races now, comes here with a lot of stable confidence behind him. Sudden Dismissal is another to have stepped up on previous form last time, winning well at Salisbury, while Brian Meehan has done well with his juveniles in some big races lately so do not rule out a good showing from The Pheasant Flyer. His other runner, Zohar, was touted as a Middle Park runner after his Haydock maiden win but, much as he seems to possess ability, he has more on his plate here. The others need to improve to score. Once again, in summary, Cupid's Glory looks the one to beat.
