Verdict

ATALANTA’S BOY has now three of his last four starts having scored in heavy going at Goodwood last time. He returned a clear winner on that occasion and a further 6lb rise may not be enough to anchor him in this. Smokey Lane has been winning lower grade sprints but Whelans Way looks a threat on recent placed efforts including a third on testing ground at Haydock. Eye Of The Water failed at Ascot bidding for a hat-trick but returns to 6f for this while recent Southwell winner Young John may handle the underfoot conditions better than Ice Age and Goodnight Girl.
