In depth

Verdict

Made In Montot gets the call here ahead of Butler's Cabin and Kelrev. It was no disgrace for Made In Montot to fail to concede a lot of weight to Butler's Cabin at Cheltenham last time and, with a breathing operation seeming to have brought some improvement, he looks set to run a big race today, the winner having run well from a higher mark since. Butler's Cabin reopposes here on eleven pounds worse terms for five lengths. If anywhere near the level of his best 2004/2005 form, Hand Inn Hand would hold very good claims here so watch the betting for possible guidance. Claymore is five pounds above his previous best winning mark, but Kelrev looked as though he could be competitive from his current mark, though, when running well at the Cheltenham Festival and, with his stable in good form, cannot be ruled out of a good run. Gallant Apporach possesses a whole load of promise and we'll discover today of his mark is fair or not, while Big Rob looked to be back to near his best when winning at Huntingdon two runs ago but flopped at Kempton last time. That said, connections are running him again quickly so something may have been amiss in Surrey that day. Tighe Caster has it to prove now from his revised mark, while the jury remains out on Patman du Charmil. Once again, then, the vote goes to Made In Montot.
