In depth

Verdict

Guiding Star finished runner-up over 5f here last time while Ticks The Boxes was placed at Hamilton recently having slid down the weights. Supaulette has been thereabouts over 7f since scoring at Ayr in August while the unpredictable Gorse was narrowly beaten here in February but hasn’t raced since March. Duke Cosimo won off a higher mark over track and trip at the start of the year but CARLOVIAN was beaten only a neck at Redcar last week under today’s apprentice and Mark Walford’s charge gets the nod to come good again.
