In depth

Verdict

Several of these are trying to recapture past glories. Lexi's Boy is one but he did do a bit better on the Flat last year, winning at Haydock. Deepsand was only beaten a head at Uttoxeter under Alex Thorne but has been raised 5lb for that. Lough Kent has a poor strike rate over hurdles but is still coming down the weights and Island Confusion went well on his first start last season so can’t be ruled out. CIRCUS STAR has been dropped 4lb since his fourth at Wetherby and has less baggage than most - he shouldn’t be far away in this.
