In depth

Verdict

The veteran Outlaw Torn has won eight times on the all-weather, including at Wolverhampton, but has never been placed on Tapeta here and has had plenty of chances. The maiden Wayside Magic is making his debut on an artificial surface while Lord Rob was beaten in a Class 7 handicap here last month and is still a maiden after 20 starts. He finished behind Highway Robber here last time and the latter should have the advantage again but, in a poor opener, a chance is taken with PERCY VERENCE. Karl Burke's charge found Class 5 company too hot on his latest start here but had run well in this grade earlier so could be good enough.
