Verdict

An intriguing contest with a number of these runners seemingly on an upward career trajectory. New Society is relatively unexposed and demonstrated he can handle this kind of mark when runner up at Pontefract last month. He represents trainer James Bethell who has a fair record at this track on Tapeta, and also regular Newcastle race sponsor John Dance. Hayward Field sprung a surprise at Thirsk last month, but shouldn't be underestimated given that he was Polytrack placed when with Roger Varian, whilst David O'Meara will surely find a race for Satish eventually, and this extra yardage might be the solution. However, the vote goes to the top-weighted maiden WAITING FOR RICHIE . His York second to Theydon Grey is rock-solid form, and this galloping 1m4f circuit should be enough of a stamina test. Expect him to be making his appearance late in the contest.
