In depth

Verdict

TROOPER’S GOLD and Roaring Character have similar handicap marks but the former was caught on the line here last time by Tamayef, who runs earlier on the card, and Kevin Ryan’s filly gets the nod on that form. Roaring Character has gone close the last three times now while Free At Last and Nature Boy look likely to improve but will need to if they are to match the two principals. Scarpach is a half-brother to the prolific Gung Ho Jack among others while fellow newcomer Arabela Dawn is related to a winner on the all-weather and both are preferred to Musico.
