        Verdict

        DESERT ACE showed signs of a revival when runner-up at Thirsk last month to the in-form Red Baron. Michael Dods' charge has every chance on that form as the latter went on to beat Confessional, Lexi's Hero, Arctic Feeling and Addictive Dream at Musselburgh. Ashpan Sam should go well again after winning in good style at Epsom but Another Wise Kid was a well-beaten second off a lower mark in last year's renewal. Northgate Lad takes on older sprinters after a fourth at York and Pearl Acclaim is upped in class off a higher mark having scored at Musselburgh recently.
