Verdict

The Jockey Club Stakes can got to Gamut, but Millenary, Warrsan and Bandari rate as big dangers. The Sir Michael Stoute-trained selection will not find life easy conceding weight to all bar Warrsan but, having proven that he can go well fresh and having won over course and distance, last year's Group One Prix de Saint-Cloud winner can make a bold bid to score here. Last season's Coronation Cup winner and Eclipse runner-up, Warrsan, rates an obvious danger, as does Millenary, a three-time course and distance winner, each time at Group 2 level. That gives you an idea of the type of quality that exists in this race. And that is before we've mentioned Bandari, who won last season's Princess Of Wales's Stakes over course and distance and the progressive and likeable Alkaased, although Maasif Centrale needs to improve a good bit to feature. Overall, though, once again, we will side with Gamut.
