Verdict

Speculative Bid endured a rough passage when bidding for a four-timer in the Royal Hunt Cup in June and will be fancied to gain compensation. But he faces no easy task giving weight to some very useful handicappers. Jallota was fifth in the Bunbury Cup after winning at York while Mr Win wasn't winning out of turn over track and trip last month. Sir Robert Cheval and Shared Equity are others with decent claims but MUKHAYYAM should now be cherry-ripe after a couple of runs and, with his three-year-old allowance, Sir Michael Stoute's Dark Angel gelding can open his seasonal account having caught the eye when fourth at Ayr last time.
