    Verdict

INFIRAAD can make light of the handicapper's assessment and confine Calligrapher and Aunt Nicola to minor roles. Infiraad was not without support ahead of a well contested maiden at the Craven meeting and only needed to be ridden out to score. The second was thoroughly exposed but he won readily enough and had caught the eye on debut last year when finishing third behind Guineas fancy Evasive and should hold his own at a higher level in due course. Calligrapher showed a good attitude at Pontefract before disappointing at Lingfield and isn't obviously well handicapped but runners from his yard have to be accorded respect and market support would be ominous for his opponents. Firebet could get into the mix, as may Folsomprisonblues now that his sights have been lowered whilst Aunt Nicola has progressed steadily thus far and may be able to maintain that but Infiraad is the one that we want to be with.
