      Verdict

Fireside is selected here ahead of Major Willy, Slam and Cadre. Accused showed plenty of promise on his Redcar debut and, even though he was last in a valuable sales race at The Curragh last time, he can go well here. However, Fireside was sixth in the same race, showing plenty of promise on his debut run and he rates as a major player today. Major Willy finished third in the same race and should also be considered. Others of interest are John Gosden's newcomer, Cadre, who cost 200,000 euros, the 32,000 guineas son of Acclamation, Chinese Profit, David Elsworth's newcomer Lazy Days, Slam, who ran well on his debut, which came in Listed company, but was beaten at odds-on last time when he pulled hard; if he settles better, he can go well, and Michael Jarvis's 60,000 guineas newcomer, Speedy Dollar. Of the others, Red Merlin at least showed improvement from run one to two last time, Brian Meehan's Deo Valente looks sure to improve on his debut and Luca Cumani runs the Falbrav newcomer Falcativ. For the selection, though, we return to Fireside.
