A terrific renewal of this very valuable handicap. Frankie keeps faith with First In Line even though the top weight was well behind Trueshan on soft going at Haydock after missing the break. He’d earlier finished ahead of Skymax when second in the Melrose at York. Le Baol is having a first run for Hughie Morrison but won twice in France, including a Listed race in June. Having won on soft going at Newbury, RHYTHMIC INTENT got no run when unplaced behind Apparate at Ascot. He looks as though he needs time to find his stride so the wide-open spaces of HQ should suit and an outside draw might help Hayley Turner plot the best course. Derevo keeps producing and is worth a try in this higher grade with Sinjaari another for the short-list having shown he handles soft going at Haydock. Battle Of Paradise is only a pound out of the handicap and a possible improver.
