This may not be the strongest renewal of this Group 1 sprint but there are still four facing the starter who have already won at the highest level. One of those is SOCIETY ROCK, who ran a remarkable race in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot behind wonder mare Black Caviar. James Fanshawe's entire was last out of the stalls and still behind at the 2f marker but finished with a rare rattle to get within two lengths of the winner and he should confirm that form with sixth Krypton Factor, Sirius Prospect, Genki and The Cheka here if getting away on level terms. The five-year-old is preferred to Bated Breath, who always seems to find one too good at this level as was the case in the King's Stand Stakes, though he has nothing to fear from Ortensia on that run. Sepoy will do well to win this on his return to action and none of the others have really shown enough to suggest they are capable of winning in this grade and that includes the Irish-trained three-year-olds Reply and Fire Lily. Libranno will set a strong gallop, however, and that should suit stable companion Strong Suit, who stays further.
