SPICEWOOD can show the benefit of her initial outing by improving past Nimue and Faithful One. The selection appeared to be in need of the experience at Lingfield where she raced in rear before running on strongly in the closing stages once the penny had dropped to finish a never nearer third. This stiffer track should also help to see the American bred filly in a better light and the yard have been flying. Nimue came close to landing a touch on debut before failing to cut the mustard in a Group 3; she suffered an ignominious end to the season but there were valid excuses for that performance and many will be prepared to give her another chance. Faithful One found one too strong in three maidens before cutting little ice in Listed company and she should be up to winning an average contest whilst it would be a surprise if Dance East, Fetching and Eldalil don't improve on what they've shown to date. Dolphin's Dream, the only newcomer in the race, looks the part and is one to note in the market exchanges along with those making their seasonal reappearances but the suggestion is Spicewood.
