Verdict

Street Life is the pick over Piri Piri and Ken's Dream, with Rasid capable enough if bouncing back. This is a fairly uninspiring handicap by Newmarket standards and should be within the scope of Street Life who finished third to Groom Dancer at Sandown a fortnight ago. He did not get the best of luck in running that day and Kieren Fallon takes the ride again so will bear that in mind as he works out his tactics when the race unfolds. Bill Musson's six-year-old has only ever won at Windsor in the past but has leading claims here. Piri Piri needs to be held up so will be coming late on the scene and may appreciate this trip more than extra two furlongs that she encountered at Hamilton. Ken's Dream in contrast was not able to dominate at Windsor, but if able to get a stride going can go well for along way despite having to hump topweight. Rasid needs it soft to be seen to best effect so will be taken off his feet, but he is worth bearing in mind if the heavens open before racing begins. The consistent Street Life has more chance than most though and is the selection.
